Liiklusohutus.ee is a free website that brings together public road safety data for Estonia. The site requires no user account and processes no more personal data than it needs to work. For data protection questions, write to [email protected].
What data is processed
- Visiting the site. Pages are delivered through Cloudflare's network (content delivery and attack protection), which technically processes your IP address and browser data. Our server does not store visitors' IP addresses.
- Statistics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits in aggregate, without cookies and without identifying visitors.
- Cookies. The site uses no cookies. Only your preferences (e.g. light or dark theme) are kept in your browser's local storage.
- Data assistant. The data assistant is currently not in use on the site. Previously asked questions and answers (without IP addresses) are deleted within 12 months of being asked.
- My neighbourhood. Your browser looks up the address directly in the Land and Spatial Development Board's address service (In-ADS) and distances are calculated in your browser. Neither the address nor your location reaches or is stored on our server.
- Maps and libraries. Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers and some program libraries from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. Like any web server, these services see your IP address.
- Email. Mail sent to [email protected] is forwarded through Cloudflare to our Google (Gmail) mailbox and used only to reply.
Social media
Liiklusohutus.ee publishes content on its own Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. We use the platforms' official interfaces (Meta Graph API, TikTok Content Posting API) only to manage our own accounts: to publish posts, view their statistics and reply to comments. To draft a reply we may use Anthropic's AI service (Claude): it receives the text of the post and the comment, but not the commenter's name. Every reply is reviewed by a person before it is published. We do not collect other users' personal data through these interfaces. The “Facts” section shows our own posts stored on our server – the site contains no social media tracking code. On social media, the platforms' own privacy policies apply.
TikTok app “Liiklusohutus postitaja”
The app is an internal tool of liiklusohutus.ee, used only by the site operator to publish road safety videos and photos on the @liiklusohutus account. It uses Login Kit and accesses only that account's basic information (open ID and display name) and the permission to publish. Access tokens are kept in a protected file on our server and are never published or shared. The app does not serve other TikTok users or collect their data. Access can be revoked at any time in TikTok's settings.
Retention
Data assistant questions and answers are kept for up to 12 months. Emails are kept as long as needed to reply. Visit statistics are kept in aggregate only.
Your rights
You may ask what data relating to you we hold, and request correction or deletion or object to processing: [email protected]. You can lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (www.aki.ee).
